Way I read it you can have 2" stagger over all, but only 1" in either direction. i.e 1" forward on nearside + 1" back on offside = 2" difference

But now you've got me wondering!!
I got a sweater for Xmas. Pity, cos I'd actually asked for a screamer or a moaner!

1. The wheelbase on both side of the car must be standard ± 25.4mm or 1” (This means
rather ½’’ or 12.7mm on both wheels or one wheel st andard wheel base and the other
one to a maximum of 1’’ ± forward or backwards).

Should it say... 'This means rather than

we have read it as one can be standard and the other an inch +/-. OR both wheels can be within an inch of each other. ?

the 2010 rule book says -

The wheelbase on both side of the car must be standard ± 25.4mm or 1” (This means
rather ½’’ or 12.7mm on both wheels or one wheel st andard wheel base and the other
one to a maximum of 1’’ ± forward or backwards).

i think this is the same as it has allways been, you are allowed to pull the N/S/F wheel foward up to 1 inch from standard and the O/S/F wheel back 1 inch from standard wheelbase, giving you a difference of 2 inches max from side to side.

or if you want to make things interesting you can have the O/S/F wheel foward by 1 inch and the N/S/F wheel back by 1 inch from the standard wheelbase but go carefull of the fence when you go into the corner, it might bite

spedeworth seem to change there mind on this rule as we found out at best in britian regardless of what you agree previous to race meetings with them - but the rule NOW is standard +/-1"
meaning 1" difference from side to side but neither wheel more than an inch forward of backwards from standard. so ns may only lead by 1".
