Take some photos next time you're down there!! So we can all see it then.
Showing my age here but my first ever stock car meeting was there. Don't remember it much....I was four weeks old and in my pram at the time. (The pram did have a full roll cage and side irons tho!!)

Wouldn't it be amazing to get it back after 35 odd years!
I got a sweater for Xmas. Pity, cos I'd actually asked for a screamer or a moaner!

If you go on google earth you can clearly see the oval in the trees. I may pop down there soon and walk the dog for a lap or two.

Hello all

Managed to drop by the track today - worked in with a main line steam specail to Uckfield - got to keep busy!!!

I had a long chat with Micky (and his dog!) round a very nice bonfire - he isdetermined that something will happen there. Apparantly there was a drivers reunion there back in the summer and he has hopes of something bigger and better in 2008.

As you might expect I took the camera with me and now have a few shots on line at

All the best

Many thanks Keith for posting the pics. The track looks good. Well done to all involved in clearing it and look forward to hearing about the racing that will be happening there.

I believe it was something to do with the locals all being ar*es about the noise etc. Just like it always is!

It only ran for about 3 or 4 years I think (was only one when it closed!!) If there is one circuit I would love to race at it would be here. Come on Deane......get it sorted!!!!
I got a sweater for Xmas. Pity, cos I'd actually asked for a screamer or a moaner!

Do we know if they are planning to hold an actual race meeting there next year?

I believe it was only 1 local who was against it but she was on the local council so had a fair bit of clout.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong as I was not around when it closed, but my parents said it closed to build a Tennis Centre.

A Colleage of mine from the area said the Tennis Centre was built accross the road in the end, so i guess that's why the track is still there?

wasnt it down in a dip somewhere? I am sure I read somewhere years back that George Polleys father-in-law helped in blasting some of the rock out of there
